In these pictures, you'll see my horse Zeke, a Thoroughbred gelding with more personality than you could ever imagine.
A horse that loves his meals and tummy scratches and hates the rain. He was never much for horse friends, he enjoyed being around people.
For every early morning ride, he would meet me in the pasture with his gentle nuzzle and we always made time for scratches in all his favorite places. He told me when he was cold, he told me when he was hungry, he let me know when my saddle started not fitting right.
But last week he told me he was sick. His eyes met mine as he looked at his belly and we both knew we were in for a long night ahead. After doing everything we could for him, Zeke was relieved from his pain early this morning.
I'm telling you this story because I hope you'll take the time to go on adventures together with your horse because you truly never know how long you will be able to enjoy their company. I know that I would do anything to have another day with this big beautiful red-head who taught me so much about riding and life.
